Textalk's development from 1979 until today

The founder of Textalk, Henryk Rubinstein, developed the world's first digital newspaper in 1979 together with Chalmers University of Technology and Göteborgs-Posten. This research lead to our market-leading system for newspapers for the visually impaired. Textalk was later founded in 1988.

Textalk has worked together with some 20-odd newspapers in Sweden and abroad to make digital newspapers available for the visually impaired - a unique product in which the technical solutions are intimately linked with publishing considerations. This experience is mirrored in our products that have received lots of praise for their simplicity and user-friendly design.

Textalk's digital newspaper for the visually impaired have been awarded with distinctions from IEE in England and won several prizes at Innovation Competitions in Sweden

With the experience and knowledge of working with digital information and its distribution, it was a nautral step to start producing newspapers for the Internet. Helsingborgs Dagblad was the first newspaper in Sweden to be published, in its entirety, on the Internet. This was done in co-operation with Textalk.

Our work within the field of of internet development has increased steadily since then and today it represents the majority of what we do.

Textalk today employs 12 people and is a complete business partner for those who want to use the Internet as an active part of their business.

The company has been staff owned since January 1st 2002. This structure creates stability, commitment and enthusiasm. Our history supports this philosophy - the personnel stays with Textalk and like it here.
